Coaching positions for Nordic ski sports open for application
The Finnish Ski Association (Suomen Hiihtoliitto) and the Cross-Country Skiing Association of Finland (Suomen Maastohiihto ry) are starting to recruit coaches in Nordic ski sports for the years to come. The positions open for application will be head coach posts for cross-country skiing, ski jumping and Nordic combined and other key coaching positions.
The Finnish Ski Association (Suomen Hiihtoliitto) and the Cross-Country Skiing Association of Finland (Suomen Maastohiihto ry) are building the coaching organization for the coming four years. Head coaches will be sought by a process of open application, for each Nordic ski sport – cross-country skiing, Nordic combined and ski jumping. It will also be possible to apply for other key coaching positions.
The coaching staff positions are now open for application and applications can be submitted until the end of March. Decisions concerning coaches for the next Olympiad are expected to be made during April.
To prepare for selection, working groups not only consisting of representatives for the above sports but also from Finnish Ski Association and the Olympic Committee were set up at the beginning of the year. The working groups will hear the necessary experts during preparation.
The choice of coach for ski jumping and Nordic combined is confirmed by the board of the Finnish Ski Association based on a proposal made by the ski jumping and Nordic combined management group. The board of the Cross-Country Skiing Association of Finland (Suomen Maastohiihto ry) is responsible for selecting the cross-country skiing coaching staff.
The Finnish Ski Association (Suomen Hiihtoliitto) is responsible for coordination and cooperation between the ski sports and for providing information on the selection process.
